"Many people believe that support is something that you give to someone you feel sorry for or that it means propping up someone who would fail unless you were there to give him a boost. But that's not the way I see it. Support is the boost you can give someone who can help himself but who needs a partner to open a window or push aside a roadblock." - Dave Thomas (1932 - 2002) Founder of Wendy's

Thanks for all these, just read them all and made me feel better. I've been away from these boards for a while as furloughed from work 3 weeks ago as shop closed, brother-in-law died from heart attack and sister lives 100 odd miles away so can't be with her and hospital called to say all transplants on hold as cannot guarantee safety of patients and needing ICU's. Completely understandable but really want DH to get his new lungs before becomes too ill to have them.
Stay safe everyone

Ok, I came here looking for a quote that I can't find. It was something about there being two ways to flex your power - pulling people up or pushing them down. When I tried to look it up on the internet, I got lots of advice on working out. lol. Do you remember how the quote went exactly?

"The true rewards of leadership come from striving to look up to a higher moral standard..Good leaders sometimes, in fact, quite often, lose in the material world. They go right ahead anyway, knowing that they are going to lose. Are they tilting at windmills? Do they have a 'can't do' attitude instead of a 'can-do' attitude? Of course not. They are committed to defending the right values. And the right values are seldom safe, easy, or advantageous." - H. Norman Schwarzkopf (1934 - 2012) A United States Army general. While serving as the commander of United States Central Command, he led all coalition forces in the Gulf War
