Thought it would be fun to share any happy things going on right now.

Our local fire department is showing up to sing happy birthday (from 6 feet away of course) to any kids who are celebrating and (obviously) can't have a party. They're bringing the big engine with lights and everything! A parent just has to reach out and let them know. And they're doing it for kids of all ages! I love those guys!

Love this!

We walk our dog twice a day. Even though I know people live in the houses around me, I'm now actually seeing them outside when we're walking. Everyone is friendly and in good cheer, despite the current situation. I told a friend of mine, it's like I'm walking through a neighborhood from the 60s. :D

Those are both great!

I'll add the people who make eye contact and smile at the grocery store. Everyone is so stressed right now. I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to just exchange a smile with someone.

Today is my 12th shift in a row. I came to Intercot to read the positive quote of the day to keep me going. :)

Do people not normally do this on a daily basis where you live?

I just found out about this website that has all sorts of nature webcams to watch. It is explore.org. I was watching some elephants and pretending that I was on Kilimanjaro Safaris. :)

My dog has found a cardboard box. He gets such joy of tearing around the yard with it in his mouth - he thinks he’s getting away with something. Cracks me up! 😆

Yes, but I'm not seeing it as much lately. People are stressed and distracted. I'm still seeing it regularly in the small town we live in, but not as much outside it.

Love that look of pure joy they get!

DD15 and I did a 5-6 mile hike this morning. First time I've been able to get her out of the house in awhile! It was beautiful and quiet.

That's ambitious. I love it! It's just too darn hot for me to do much more than a couple of miles right now. And by that, I mean down the sidewalks in my neighborhood. ;)

I've been seeing posts online where people jokingly claim that it turns out a lack of time ISN'T what was keeping them from getting things done. :D

However, I did have the time to put in a ceiling fan today and I'm SO, SO glad. It's been on my to-do list for almost 4 years. I'm seriously happy to get it done and it puts a smile on my face each time I walk into that room.

It's chilly here still, which helped! Also means no bugs. I let DD15 choose the paths and she asked me when we got home how far we went. I had to look at the map to figure it out. I was kind of surprised! I didn't realize we'd walked quite that far.

This is making me smile - sort of. We're in the middle of DIY and DH had to take the door off the full bath out to the garage to sand the paint off of it. I swiped a curtain from a closet to hang over the door. Now we can't stop the cats from barging in on us. They look SO smug about it! LOL!

Someone online posted a picture of a Charmin semi truck out for delivery. I'm thinking to myself, "That needs a police escort at this time."

I think you did win the lottery! I planted some seeds today too. We also have the windows open a little. It's still kinda chilly, but I don't care.

This is the time of year for plant sales. I’ve just bought a bunch of tomatoes and other plants that I’ll be picking up from a nonprofit in a ‘deliver to your trunk’ on Saturday and I bought all my soil amendments from Home Depot and they delivered right to my driveway. So happy to be able to work in my yard!

I buy Disney scented candles from Dearly Loved on Etsy. I worked 13 shifts in a row due to nurses calling off. I was exhausted and mentioned on Facebook how I would go home and relax by lighting my monorail resort smell candle. Two days later, a package from Dearly Loved was on my door with a new monorail resort scented candle and a note telling me to relax when I could.

They were SO good. It was a nice treat, we haven't had them in awhile. Plus we were out late enough to see the bats come out and see Venus.

Ugh! So said dog has found said plants (not yet planted) and has turned them into a toy. Nothing has been killed yet but grabbing a four inch pot, bursting through the dog door and proceeding to leave a trail of damp dirt throughout the house was not good. He’s been called a monster and naughty more than once. It’s supposed to stop raining tomorrow so I hope to get the plants in the ground tomorrow.

I do have to say the very clear trail of dirt was a little bit funny. 😀

I baked two spaghetti squash. Kept some in the fridge, but bagged up the rest in serving sizes and popped them in the freezer. This way I won't get sick of it too quickly. Hoping to mitigate some of the food damage that's being done while isolating.

I agree. Some days I just want to snack all day long because I'm bored. And it's getting hotter here so going outside isn't as much of an option as it was a couple of weeks ago. I mean, technically, I can go outside, but I LOATHE the FL heat and humidity. Therefor, I don't spend much time outside once the temps start going mid to upper 80s and above.

I have been moved to night shift at work to cover for one of the nurses who has been deployed. For the first time in my working life, a Friday is actually my Friday. Woohoo! *happy dance*

Because I completely dropped the ball (egg?) on planning for Easter, I was trying to figure out how I could still manage to put out a little something for the girls. I did have some Cadbury eggs, and I remembered that years ago I obsessively downloaded a bunch of those Disney 3D papercrafts. So I made Daisy holding a chocolate bunny, an Easter Bunny, an Alice in Wonderland shadowbox (Tim Burton version) and a big Alice in Wonderland (classic version) diorama egg. The big egg had a design flaw. It was missing one half of the bottom of the egg, so I had to use one of the patterns for the top piece and it turned out pretty wonky (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). But, they all made a nice little display to surprise the girls with. And, it reminded me how much I get a kick out of doing them! I made a starspeeder last night. I have 6 different ones and I'm going to make them all. Right now, I'm super grateful that I bought a pack of card printer paper and new print cartridges before all this hit! If anyone would like some of these, I can send you the pdfs. Just PM your email address to me. I have a ton of Disney characters and some non-Disney as well.

My roommate moved out and took his dog with him. We've started having confirmed covid cases at work, so I'm pretty much isolating myself from everyone. I moved out of the house with my daughter and the baby (I know it isn't really affecting kids, but since he was just in the NICU for pneumonia when he was born in February, I don't want to chance it.) I'm staying in the house with my oldest son, his wife and her mom. Most of the dogs stayed with my daughter, so I'm going through dog withdrawal. My ex-roommate sent me a picture of his dog to my email at work. Now it is my background picture at work. :)

Aww. Dog withdrawal is hard. I wish you could post videos here. I would share a picture of my friend and her Husky working with a kick bike. It's so funny and cheers me up so much I've probably watched it a dozen times by now.

I love Huskies too! But they can be a handful! My sister and her husband had one. She was very sweet and loving, but constantly doing crazy things. Stuff you wouldn't even believe. She was wicked smart and got bored very easily. Bad combination! They would take her out biking and running for several miles pretty much every single day and it never fully ran off her energy.

DD19 and I went for a snowy trail ride yesterday. It was so beautiful and peaceful!

Capt Tom has made me smile! You may have heard of him but if not he's a 99 yr old vet who planned to walk 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday on April 30. He did it for NHS charities hoping to get £1000. He finished his laps and his total is £21 million plus!!!
Yes, i donated. Total hero in my book.

My oldest son and I were running errands yesterday. He was telling me that during their zoom meeting for work that day, someone was playing "I'll Make a Man Out of You." He started singing along with the song during their meeting. lol

Then he started playing Disney music for me in his truck. <3

On page 2 of this thread I said about Captain Tom Moore raising money for NHS charities. His Just Giving page was closed on his 100th birthday at just shy of £33 MILLION!!!!!!! The Queen has now knighted him so it's now Captain Sir Tom Moore. Well done and well deserved!
