We'll have a 2 year old (will be turning 3 a couple of weeks after our trip), a 3 year old (turning 4 the day after the trip ends), and a 6 almost 7 year old. Should I give them some pins to trade at those ages?

The 6 year old should be able to trade no problem. The almost 4 year old could probably do it with help from an adult. The littlest might be able to do it but might not understand giving up a pin to get one. But you never know. All you could do is try it a couple times and see if the kiddos are interested and how they handle giving up a pin to get a pin. Not all kids are good at that part

Our kids started pin trading about the time they outgrew wanting character autographs. Keep it mind that it gets expensive, and those pins are heavy and cumbersome to carry around. If they are still happy with autographs, I'd say hold off on pin trading until next time.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll see how it goes with the autographs the first couple of days and decide.

I think this is like the question "What age is too young to bring a child to WDW?" Everyone is going to have their own opinion. We started pin trading when my youngest was five. On our last trip we did not even bring pins with us to the park. I think part of it for me was it was becoming too much work to keep track of which pins I had and which pins I needed to complete sets. (So frustrating when you think you traded to complete a set only to get back to the hotel and realize you already had that one.)
