We are unexpectedly adding a day to our vacation because of a flight cancellation/re-booking and are thinking about staying offsite the first night. We'd like to be closer to Disney than the airport - but don't need to be on Disney or even in Disney Springs area. Was looking for a decent place to stay but hoping to avoid paying for parking and/or resort fees if possible. Anyone have any recommendations? We're going to just sleep there so pool, etc. is not important.

Thanks in advance!

We stayed off-site for a night moving our DD out of DCP. We are SPG members, so we used our points to stay at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort. It was nice and clean, very close to DS. Did pay $15 for parking but the convenience of being close to Disney was worth it.
I also stayed at the Holiday Inn Orlando - Disney Springs Area recently and think that the Sheraton was nicer/cleaner.

Hope this helps!

We stayed at Flamingo Crossings last year before checking in to French Quarter. It was very nice. Free breakfast, no resort or parking fees, and right next to the Disney entrance. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

We have stayed up on ApopkaVineland road where there are several nice properties. Also you may want to consider Rt 192, Orlo Bronson Hgwy. There are lots of great places to spend a night or two and interesting places to visit. One of our favorites is Old Town and there is/was a nice Days Inn Suites nearby. Have fun

There is a Hampton Inn on Palm Parkway, off of 535 (several other properties along that stretch as well). We've stayed there a number of times. Free parking, free WiFi, free breakfast. Close to the Disney Springs entrance, and usually a very good rate. I'm partial to the Hilton brands, though.

We stayed at the Melia just right outside the Wide World of Sports area and it was super nice. Full kitchen, nice pool, big rooms.
