Are they usually a part of the deals ran in the fall? I know POR is included but really couldn't remember if the royal rooms were usually included.. Thinking about staying in them next year.

They can be. I know we stayed one year in a Royal Room. Since they are more expensive, they often have availability. They are lovely though ...

We booked one for this Sept and got the free dining promo. It's a free quick service dining now though, so it's not as good a value as before.

Really? Why are moderate resorts receiving QS plans now? Seems pretty cheap on Disney's end to me....

I heard you can upgrade to the regular dining plan by paying the difference in cost. Quick service dining plan is better than no dining plan at all....especially when it is free!!

This is true, but keep in mind the same applies for Value Resorts. Why pay more for a moderate resort when the All Stars/Pop Century offers the same thing? Also, I imagined the moderates would have the regular dining plan free then the deluxe resorts would have the deluxe dining plan free.

I will say, we stayed at POR last year in one of the royal rooms and I just was not a fan. They were very far away from all bus stops and foodcourt/registration building, and there is so much going on the rooms that it almost feels claustrophobic. In our experience this year so far, we switched our WL reservation to POR. We found the princess rooms to be cheaper because they really are in a bad location. Just our experience so far and some advice from someone who has stayed there. :mickey:

A few years ago we stayed in one of the buildings that now have the Royal rooms and we did not find them to be far away from the main building at all. Our building was the Oak Manor building and it took maybe 5-7 minutes to walk over to the main building. We also had the option of using the bus stop at the main building or using one that was located not far away just across the parking lot behind our building. We stayed at an alligator bayou room in November and found it to be further away from the main building than our Oak Manor room (now Royal rooms) that we stayed in years ago.

Our 25th anniversary a few years back, we splurged for a few nights in the Royal room, as a treat, before going to FQ.

They were nice on the inside, but ours opened onto the back of the sold concrete staircase to the upstairs level. Dropped the ambiance meter for us a lot. :( Overall, I wouldn't do it again as we are only in our rooms to sleep.

Does anyone know how the food court is with accommodating food allergies for breakfast?
