BB-8 to Begin Character Meet & Greet at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Disney Parks & Resorts has announced a third Character Meet & Greet for the Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney's Hollywood Studios:




... BB-8 will appear in addition to Kylo Ren and Chewbacca, two characters from the Star Wars galaxy who guests regularly encounter at Star Wars Launch Bay. In addition to character greetings, the location also offers guests the chance to explore galleries full of treasured memorabilia and authentic replicas of large-scale Star Wars artifacts, including some from the latest film in the franchise, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

... He’ll make his debut appearance during the Star Wars: Galactic Nights special event[April 14, 2017], and will continue to greet guests from then on.

The BB-8 Meet & Greet made a surprise debut on April 9th ahead of the announced start date.

As announced, the Meet & Greet is a new addition to the Star Wars Launch Bay in addition to the Light Side and Dark Side Meet & Greet locations.

BB-8 is presented on a small pedestal. A Cast Member is near by to translate for BB-8 on the off chance you don't speak droid.

Has anyone met him, yet? How interactive is he? Or are we just posing with a statue that blinks? He is my daughter's favorite, and since we were just there at Christmas, we have no plans to return this year, but she can't stop talking about meeting him!

There does not appear to be a FASTPASS+ option at this time.

He is confined to a small pedestal top, but otherwise appears to be fully articulated as you see in the movie. He interacts and "talks" with Guests, but the near by Cast Member will likely need to translate for you. ;)
