Park hour extensions

I seem to recall MK extending the closing time during busy times. IE my plan from the planning calendar would say 11pm and then the time would be much later when I checked the schedule at the hotel before board at bus. The evening extra magic hours would begin after the newly posted closing time. It got quite late sometimes.

Have these extensions ended?

They haven't stopped, but it does seem that Disney is being "less generous" with extending the hours.
