Child turning 3

We are going down in 2018 and the first day there our granddaughter will be 2, but her birthday will be on our second day there. How does disney handle this?

Your child is free for the duration of the trip.

Your age at check in is your age or the trip. We did this with my son for his 3rd birthday.
