Universal Orlando's annual pass prices jumped as much as 13 percent Wednesday, as the resort put into place a new system that increased options for purchasers.
A basic pass with blockout dates went from $234.99 to $259.99. Also, the summer blockout dates apply to both theme parks rather than just one.
A new pass level that blocks out Christmastime and spring break but not summer costs $319.99.
An annual pass that provides year-round access went from $309.99 to $349.99.
And a premier pass with lots of extra benefits now costs $489.99, up from $444.99.
The more expensive pass with blockout dates gives visitors a 50 percent parking discount. Passes with blockout dates up to now have not provided parking benefits.
Also, the two more expensive passes now provide admission to the theme parks before they open to the general public.
People who already have passes may qualify for discounts of 50 percent or more "depending on the pass and how the passholder decides to renew," Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said in an email.
