Investigators from the FBI are searching the electronic devices of the Muslim terrorist who killed at least 49 people in an Orlando nightclub for any direct indications that he planned to target Disney World or nearby Downtown Disney, a law enforcement source close to the investigation told Fox News on Monday.

The search for evidence of any plan to target Disney is in addition to scrubbing those devices for communications with any FBI-flagged individuals, domestic or international, the source said.

As of Monday, investigators are currently scrubbing the Pulse nightclub gunman’s computer for any pictures or videos of Disney World that would suggest Omar Mateen cased the park or its surrounding areas as a potential target, according to the source.

Heard this on the news this morning. Unfortunately, it's clear that this type of event could occur at any location, at any time. That said, we can't spend life within our homes - never venturing out.

So sad. So much hatred walking among us each and every day.

The whole situation is so sad. I hope it doesn't deter people from enjoying their vacations, we are never 100% safe, and that is just life now, it can't let it stop you from living!

I also believe Disney Security is very good and they are aware of more than we know. While Disney Springs does not have a bag check, I still believe that folks are watching out for us.

I heard that Disney reported this man to the FBI in April for appearing to be scouting out Disney. The only way they could know his name is if he bought something there with a credit card or a ticket. I was actually glad to know they are watching out for this kind of thing because those bag checks are just not going to help much if someone wants to kill people.
I agree with others that we have to live our lives and we cannot obsess about the "what-ifs". Go, enjoy.

You bet they are. Big brother is always watching, and taking photos, and compiling databases, and sharing info with government agencies, etc. No one is anonymous on Disney property.

My friends were at WDW last week, right before the shooting. They said that security bag checks at the gate were more thorough than usual. They completely emptied her backpack and looked at every single item.

We were there a week and a half ago, prior to the shootings. The bag checks were more extensive. Additionally, they were randomly having people go through metal detectors.

Problem isn't the theme parks... Though "responsible" gun owners have gotten guns through the gates before... The issue here is Disney Springs where anyone and everyone can just walk on in, without going through a security check... This guy could have come to Disney Springs instead and shot up more then 103 people... This would have also involved children...
