Looking for feedback on Disney Springs resorts- right now we are booked at Doubletree and it looks promising, but I haven't been there, and we've only done WDW resorts (eeks, and mostly Deluxes)...it looks amazing for the price, and it seems to be within walking distance to Disney Springs. I would love to get any info or your personal experience! I realize its not themed...which is ok for this trip. AKL is my all-time favorite, and I'm a little sad we can't do it this year. But the thought of having a 2 room suite and daily breakfast for less than a Value resort is really important to my family right now. And it not costing $500/ night! Thanks!!

We had friends stay there a couple years ago and loved it. They had stayed on Disney property before, but just the value resorts. They found the room spacious. The food very good and they liked the fact it wasn't costing them and arm & leg.

Would they go back and stay there again? Yes, they would. However, they missed the magic of staying on property.

Hope this helps. Going to Disney, right? You'll have a great time no matter where you rest your head at the end of the day!

Thanks for the input! i'm hoping since it is walking distance to Disney Springs that we'll still feel like we are staying on property. Maybe just a little less themed. Thanks again!

You might want to double check that distance. On Google Maps, it looks pretty far away to me.

Oh gosh- I hope I'm looking at the right spot. It looked like about .7 miles or less. I wonder if the shuttles are reliable? Thanks for the heads up!

According to Google Maps, it's 0.7 miles (14 minutes) to walk from the DoubleTree Suites to Disney Springs Marketplace.

Some of the plaza area hotels charge daily parking, and per person resort fees that can add up.

We just stayed in the Disney Springs area for Memorial Day, it was an easy walk from your hotel. My Teenager enjoyed being close to Disney Springs for the food and shopping. We always seemed to buy a treat right as we left to make the walk back more enjoyable 😬. The new walkways over the streets have helped so much. I think you will find it is a reasonable back up to staying on property.

Thank you so much for the info- one of my main concerns was whether or not there is a sidewalk from the hotels to Disney Springs. So on that main street where most of the hotels are, there is a sidewalk all the way down to the entrance to Disney Springs? We all like to walk, and .7 miles doesn't seem that bad to me. Esp in December- I know its most likely not going to be 100 degrees out!

We won't have a car, and I checked and I don't see any daily resort fees for our specific hotel. I've noticed that several of those hotels do have steep resort fees and parking fees, so it really adds up. I was trying to keep that in mind in figuring out the total trip costs. Thanks for the heads up! Very good point!

That's what I got when I plugged it in as well. That doesn't seem too bad to me. The last time we stayed at Kidani we would walk over to the Mara several times a day...it seems about the same distance, as our room at Kidani was pretty far back. Plus we'll be there in Dec so I'm not expecting it to be super hot. Thanks for the input!

Yes there is a sidewalk and large pedestrian bridge that give you direct access to Disney Springs! It is a great addition and it has alleviated a ton of car congestion! Enjoy!

Friends went there and really liked it, the transportation wasn't as good, but with the savings they used taxis/Uber

We stayed there last year and liked the space.
We used the shuttle. It ends at TTC for the Parks and that worked well. We did not walk to Disney Springs, though.
