Our first stop is the Contempo Cafe where we each order an egg, ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast. They are huge!! One would have been more than adequate for the both of us.

After breakfast, we hop on the monorail and head to Epcot. The monorail from the Transportation Center seems to have trouble getting going and I'm concerned we are going to get stuck but, after a short wait, we get going and make it to Epcot without incident.

We have a fastpass for Living with the Land. The standby wait time is 0 minutes. We walk on and I cancel the fastpass. From here, we slowly wander towards World Showcase which opens just as we approach the spot where folks are being held. We wander past the construction area that is the Norway pavilion and enter China where we watch Reflections of China. We slowly continue on our way. We wander through the shops in Germany and Italy.

By the time we arrive at the American Pavilion, we begin to think about having something light for lunch. We check out the menu for Liberty Inn and for Katsura Grill as well but neither one appeals so we decide to head to the United Kingdom and share an order of fish and chips. A table is open right outside the pub so we have our lunch there. I had a fastpass for Turtle Talk with Crush but cancel it. We decide to keep our fastpass to Spaceship Earth but I should have canceled this one as well!! We hadn't gotten very far when the ride shut down. We were stuck for 20-30 minutes before the ride got going again!!

During the time we were in Epcot, we also explored a few of the special gardens that were set up for the flower and garden show.

After that long ride/wait on Spaceship Earth, we go to Canada and watch the Martin Short film there. We wander through the shops in the United Kingdom and decide to call it a day so make our way to the exit.

When we arrive back at the Transportation Center, they have closed down the Express Monorail and are pointing Magic Kingdom goers to the ferry. We get back to our room and rest a bit before getting ready for this evening's reservation at California Grill.

Since I had something to pop into the mail slot, we take the elevator all the way down and then walk over to the Contemporary. From there, we take the escalator up to the second floor and check in for our reservation. We are provided with a pager and escorted up to the top floor. Our table is not ready yet so we sit down in the lounge area which is surprisingly empty - though of course it is still quite a while until the fireworks are scheduled. We order drinks and our pager goes off before they are delivered. We settle up and are shown to the monorail room which is a smaller room off in the back corner of the restaurant. We ate in this room once before and really liked the intimacy. We also found it to be much quieter than the main room. However, on this evening, there is a large party seated in the room and they are being quite loud and boisterous. We are very glad when they finish their meal and leave. This evening, we both start with the goat cheese ravioli. I have the bison for dinner while spouse orders a steak. We have a bottle of wine with dinner. Tonight, we each order an appetizer and a specialty coffee as well. Spouse has a strawberry shortcake while I have a Bananas and Caramel concoction. Quite good.

Following dinner, we return to our room and watch the fireworks from there before heading to bed.

Linda,

You and Gene have had some amazing amazing meals this trip!!!!!
I'm a bit envious. One day when Fred and I are empty-nester's I hope to get to the better venue's to eat. For my upcoming trip it's Chef Mickey's, Askerhaus breakfast and a few other family favorites!!!
A great day! Thanks for your report!

I am pretty impressed with the meals you have been having, it makes me wish i was there now.

Being stuck on spaceship earth can be creepy if its near an animatronic that seems to be "looking' at you :)
