Hi-
I just booked a trip to Disney World 7-12 July. My 9 & 10 year old have been there before but it will be the 1st time for my 3 year old. He has recently had open heart surgery and we are going to celebrate- his recovery and to basically help the older kids recoup from what has been a huge stress on the family. Does Disney offer anything special to help us celebrate my 'superhero' and it being his 1st time to Disney?
Thanks!

I hope I can help but first...:welcome: to Intercot....

When you check in you can get buttons for first visit, celebrating something special, that he and the family can wear. You could also look on the WDW web site to see if there is anything there. I know that you can order things which are placed in your room before arrival for celebrating various things, but at a cost..

I would ask the clerk at check in for idea's as well. I am sure that someone on intercot will chime in as well with other and better idea's.

Hope this helps and enjoy your trip....:mickey:

There are buttons you can wear that say "I'm Celebrating". When making dining reservations, you might want to note that your family is celebrating. Glad to hear your youngest is recovering and that your older kids get to celebrate your future family life!!

:welcome:

Just the buttons like the others have said. Cast members will read and react to the button. A few years back we had a great day when my son was randoming rewarded twice on his birthday. We were all escorted to a special viewing dock for Illuminations and we were sat up front in the Lion King show. I was even stood up and used to lead the section with the warthog noise. But that was just random luck.

Busy hot time of the year. Keep cool. Use fastpass. Set your expectations for large crowds and hot weather. In busy season I go with entirely different expectations.

WELCOME! You'll love INTERCOT. In addition to the other suggestions, check out the "guest with special needs" forum for other ideas on getting around Disney if he is still recovering from a major procedure. There's great info there on Guest Assistance Cards, etc. You can also call to note the celebration on your reservation and mention it to any restaurant staff, the desk when you check in (if you're staying on property) and character handlers. There are no guarantees, but I've had good luck with this 90% of the time.

Have a wonderful, and well deserved, trip!:mickey:
