This is a terrific moderate resort!! It's small and quite popular so if you want to stay here, you need to book pretty early or you may not be able to get the dates you want.

I've done the Fort Wilderness carriage ride but not the one at this location. I've greatly enjoyed the Fort Wilderness carriage ride. You can book in advance:

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
Take in a beautiful scenic landscape on a timeless journey. Select from 2 routes: Ride through the lush pine and cypress trees of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, or travel along the charming pathways of Port Orleans — Riverside and the banks of the Sassagoula River.
Carriages fit up to 4 adults (or 2 adults and 3 small children). Rides through Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground depart from the main entrance of Crockett’s Tavern. For Disney's Port Orleans — Riverside rides, please check in at Riverside Levee Marina.

Each horse-drawn carriage rides cost $45 and trots along for 25 minutes. Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY, or (407) 939-7529. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent of guardian permission to call.

We stayed there 4 years ago during Thanksgiving Week and loved it! It was so quiet we didn't notice the crowds at all. We were in the furthest building but it was a short walk to the main building for breakfast and the bus and also a short walk to POR. We also liked the boat to Disney Springs. The staff was wonderful as well.

We have stayed many time at both POR and POFQ and we love them both. POFQ is smaller, and therefore a lot less "frantic" than POR seems to be (especially the food court). We had a third-floor room facing the river a couple of trips ago and it was just lovely!

My family and I discovered POFQ about fifteen years ago and will not stay anywhere else on property. The resort itself is homey and th. e perfect size. We love that it is centrally located to all the parks and has great transportation to the parks and to Disney Springs. Our next trip is end of September. Can't wait.

It is absolutely a wonderful resort. We last stayed there in 2012 and it was being refurbished. It looks beautiful. Probably not a bad location on property, but if you can swing it, try to get a river view. You will still be close to lobby.

They have fresh, made-to-order beignets at the food court.
Boat ride to Disney Springs is one of our favorite modes of transportation
Once you stay here, you may find it hard to go back to Pop.

I loved our stay in POFQ! We were in Building 7 which is the "furthest" away from the main building. (In quotes because of the size of the property, nothing is truly far.) If you're looking for a tranquil place to stay I think this would work for you.

This is our favorite resort! You can utilize everything at POFQ and Riverside. You can stroll from one to the other, use all the pools and restaurants, and you are a boat ride away from DS. Best of all please don't forget https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/port-orleans-resort-riverside/yehaa-bob-jackson-at-river-roost/ He is the Best!!

I like to call this our home resort. the place is quiet, not crowded, has good bus service, and a wonderful ride by boat to Disney springs. the food court is good and if you cant find anything you like its a short walk up to POR. in fact the river walk is a great thing to do, even if you don't eat there. having a river view is nice I suppose but how much time do you spend in the room. the last few times we went ,we used the standard room. overlooked the parking lot but through trees so was a nice view and it didn't cost extra. I don't think there is a more quiet , or peaceful resort on the property. Book early as its the smallest resort so fills up fast and usually none of the meal deals apply here but you can get room discounts. Just check with magicial journeys and they'll get you the best deals . Enjoy your first trip there , you will go back!

We stayed at POFQ during Christmas week 2014, and we loved everything about it. The compact size, the food court, great bus service. We'll be staying there again on our next trip.

You will love the FQ and yes it's very quiet and laid back. It's actually our favorite of all Disney Resorts.

We are staying here for the first time ever in October. We are spending 3 nights there before moving to the Grand Flo for another 7 nights. we can't wait to try it out!

We've stayed at POR twice (in 2003), and really disliked it. Both times we had mansion rooms that were dirty, musty and in poor condition. We also notice less than stellar (i.e. downright rude) CM's there as well.

We've wanted to try POFQ for years, but it was either booked, or they never had any AP room discounts. They don't have any deals for our upcoming trip, be we decided to go for it anyway.

Such a popular resort, and that's something I'll never understand. lol I'll stick with Coronado in the moderate range.

We have stayed at POR several times and never had an experience with dirty musty rooms. I do know they went through a refurbishment since our last stay there in 2010. We will be there this November and can't wait. We have always heard great things about POFQ and plan to stay there on our trip next year.

We will be there this November and can't wait. We have always heard great things about POFQ and plan to stay there on our trip next year.

I know! That's why we tried POR in 2003. We heard great things. We had a trip booked with friends for December of that year, and then we got a last-minute "buy 4 nights get 3 free" promotion, so we stayed there in September before the December trip to try it out.

We found various types of body hair on the bathroom floor upon entering the room. We had black marks along the wall, and the room smelled like it hadn't been opened or cleaned in months. When we went back in December, we had pretty much identical conditions, and were told we wouldn't be moved to another room.

When I went to the gift shop (per orders of the front desk) to get packing tape to tape up a box to send home, I was scowled at by a CM. He reluctantly gave me the packing tape, told me to make sure I didn't let it follow me back to our room, and watched me walk out of the gift shop over to the front desk. He stood at the entrance watching me the entire time I taped up the box. When I handed it back to him and thanked him, he just walked away. We also found the front desk CM's to be quite unhelpful and lazy.

That's why we've never returned. We are very excited about staying at POFQ, though. Hopefully things have really turned around. I'm sure in 2003 the CM's were probably in pretty low spirits with the parks not doing very well, and I'm sure room cleaning/maintenance was slacking greatly.
