I have a special needs son and we have used the DAS card at WDW in the past. The program has changed a few times in the last few years. If I recall at WDW they currently incorporate it into the Magic Bands. Obviously this is not the case at DL. Hoping someone can tell me what they are currently doing at DL. Thanks.

We have a DAS for one of our sons. The process is very easy at Disneyland. Not sure how WDW's system works as we haven't been since the changes, but here is how it works at DL:

1. Go to Guest Relations INSIDE the park (either park) to obtain DAS. All people in the party need to be present at the time the DAS is obtained if you need it for more than a party of 4. The DAS will be issued for your length of stay, or for 60 days if you are an annual passholder.

2. The DAS will be electronically attached to the disabled individual's ticket (they will scan the barcode on the back with a handheld ipod type scanner). They will key in the amount of people in the party TOTAL and that number will be associated with the DAS holder's ticket.

3. They can issue your first ride return time at Guest Relations if you wish. Otherwise, you will find podiums spaced around each of the two parks with dark green umbrellas over them and plaid wearing CM's manning them. These are the DAS return time locations. When you get the DAS at first, the CM will hand you an information card that has the locations of all the kiosks listed on it.

4. You can use ANY DAS return location to receive a return time for ANY ride, in EITHER park. You must have everyone's tickets when you need to obtain a return time (they will all be scanned). You DO NOT need to bring the disabled individual with you to obtain a return time, BUT the person does have to ride the attraction.

5. Your ride return time will be equal to the standby time less 10 minutes. Everyone's tickets will be scanned and you will be told your return time. You can come back anytime AFTER the return time window begins. It does not expire like a Fast Pass. You can only have ONE return time at a time. You can ALSO use Fastpass in conjunction with the DAS and hold fastpasses as well as a return time simultaneously.

6. When your return time has arrived, you will go to the attraction and either use the FP line (but instead of a paper fastpass, the CM will scan everyone's tickets and they will be able to see that you have a return time and how many are in your party) or you will use the ride exit as the entrance. Find a CM that has a scanner on a holster...that is who you need to approach at the ride.

7. You can obtain a return time as soon as you have used the one you had. There is no limit to the amount of return times you can get in a day.

You will find the DAS kiosks in the following locations (roughly, going by memory here)

In Disneyland:

Guest Relations on Main Street
In Tomorrowland across from Star Trader Store
In Fantasyland between Dumbo and Teacups
In New Orleans Square near Pirates

In DCA:

Guest Relations at the main entrance plaza
Near the entrance to Carsland
Near Toy Story Midway Mania

There are probably more kiosks, but these are the ones we use most often so I am sure of their locations. As I said, though, just look for green umbrellas, those will be the kiosks. They have an "i" on the front of them.
