2016 Disney Dining Plan Price Increases

Here we go again....


Walt Disney World has raised prices for their Disney Dining Plans, effective today, March 9. The number of meals and snacks included in each plan have not changed.

The Quick Service Plan still includes 2 quick service meals and1 snack per night of stay and 1 refillable mug. Previously the plan cost $42.84 for adults and $17.47 for children (ages 3-9); the new costs are $44.13 for adults and $19.04 for children.

The Regular Dining Plan includes 1 table service meal, 1 quick service meal and 1 snack per night of stay, plus 1 refillable mug. Previously the plan cost $61.84 for adults and $20.96 for children (ages 3-9); the new costs are $63.70 for adults and $22.85 for children.

The Deluxe Dining Plan includes 3 table service meals (these can also be used at quick service locations) and 2 snacks per night of stay, plus one refillable mug. Previously the plan cost $111.73 for adults and $32.56 for children (ages 3-9); the new costs are $115.08 for adults and $35.49 for children.

The new prices amount to a 3% increase.

Enough already! Can we be done with the dining plan? Go back to decently priced food offerings? This is getting silly ... now the rest of the prices will rise (like BOG) to make the DDP seem like a good value.

Or they already raised their prices and the DDP is just catching up. This will help level out the break even point of the Table in Wonderland card, although I think it may have actually priced itself out of any savings for most people.

You know I have always wondered, if the average burger joint (McDonald's, Burger King, etc.) can give me a burger, fries and a drink for approximately $5, why does Disney charge $10+ for just a burger and fries.

I actually posted yesterday that the menu prices were going up. BOG breakfast is now $24.

There is nothing like eating at Disney, that's the draw for me, but my goodness, it's getting out of hand !! Very expensive !!!!

How do you figure? The QS DDP is $44 per adult per day.

I really don't see how the math adds up to make the QS dining plan a deal. This example right here shows the break even point, and it requires a $24 QS meal! Most QS are around $15. So let's say 2 $15 QS meals, 2 $3 sodas and a $5 snack? That's $41 out of pocket. How is a $44/day "plan" a value?

The dining plan has never been a value... Maybe, just maybe the math worked out for some with 'free' dining, but I'm not sold on that either. Paying rack rates for rooms is just not something I ever consider doing.
