We just got back from a trip this past Thursday, and were told by a cast member at Seashore Sweets that they are closing for good as of today, and there are no announced plans to have freshly scooped ice cream anywhere on the Boardwalk. Say it isn't so!

It is true. We have it listed as a permanent closure on our rehabs list. I liked this shop. You can get ice cream at the walk up counter at Beaches and Cream.

Like mentioned you can go to Beaches and Cream. It can get kinda busy at the walk up counter and they are very slow ... but good !!!!

The counter as Beaches and Cream could never take up the slack - It is terribly slow as it is, and has a much smaller flavor selection. Even when we stay at BCV, we get (got ) our ice cream at Seashore Sweets. A boardwalk without ice cream just won't be the same.

There are rumors circulating that the space where the Arcade was located (which closed in January) will be home to an ice cream shop, though nothing has been announced.

There actually is a very good ice cream shop in the Dolphin, we went there last year when Beaches and Cream had a long line.
It was called the Fountain, they had some pretty unique flavors too. So its just a short walk on the other side of the Boardwalk.

Me too! I was bummed about the ice cream disappearing at the Boardwalk - as I have changed my eating habits to strictly fruits, vegetables, protein (lost 50 lbs so far!!). Anyhow - I allow myself to go off the program when I am on vacation. This way, I get to have sweets (what I used to eat every day) only a select amount of time (I am not depriving myself, just giving me something to look forward to). It worked out well last year. :)

But - the silver lining now is if I want freshly scooped ice cream, there is two places to get it that will require a walk to get to - thereby burning some calories!!! :)

That ice cream sundae was soooooo good last year (after not having any for 6 months prior). Though I thoroughly flummoxed the cast member - they give you three scoops in a sundae - and I only wanted one. I had to beg her only to give me one - even though paying for a full one. When I went back again - rather than deal with the drama - I got all three scoops & just threw away what I didn't eat.

Does the Dolphin do take out? I've only been there once - and we sat in for it.

Our first night tradition is dinner at Beaches & Cream - so I'll partake at least once.

And even though I must have eaten ice cream sundaes about 4 times that trip - I lost 2 lbs that week due to all the exercise I was getting!

If you're curious - when I got home - I went right back on my plan of healthy eating without looking back!!!
