The Magic Kingdom park has announced that the multi-month refurbishment for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been delayed till later in the year:




From August 8 to November 18, 2016, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for refurbishment.

In an effort to better your Old West experience, the sun will set on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as it closes for refurbishment on April 4, 2016, with a planned re-opening currently scheduled for July 2016. Magic Kingdom Cast have additionally reported that July 16th is the tentative re-opening date despite the lack of detail in the Public Announcement.
