Traveling to Disneyland next summer. Going to get one of the guide books. Which do people think is better, Birnbaum or the Unofficial Guide? Thanks

They both have their positives and negatives. Overall, I find Unofficial Guide to be a bit over the top in general, like over dramatic. They make things sound really stressful a lot of the time. However, they do provide a balanced viewpoint. Can you just get both books?

It truly depends on the person for who it is for... 1st time visitor - Birnbaums without question. The unofficial guide is a lot for anyone but absolutely overwhelming for a newbie. Now for a seasoned visitor the unofficial guide has quite a few hidden tidbits that are nice. Honestly over the years I have bought countless Birnbaums for gifts but have only bought myself the unofficial guide. My mom compares it to a phone book. Small print & huge. We have come to live the passporter guide. It has a good balance bw the two guides. A lot of interesting hidden gems & all the basics in an easy to read color format.

I could get both books but I don't want to have too much reading to do. I have used these books for WDW in the past so I know that the Unofficial Guide is packed with information. I am thinking I will go with Birnbaum as it'll have what is necessary to make sure I don't miss anything when we visit Disneyland without being too overwhelming.
