Pandora – The World of AVATAR will bring a variety of new experiences to the Park, including a family-friendly attraction called Na’vi River Journey. The adventure begins as guests set out in canoes and venture down a mysterious, sacred river hidden within the bioluminescent rainforest. The full beauty of Pandora reveals itself as the canoes pass by exotic glowing plants and amazing creatures. The journey culminates in an encounter with a Na’vi shaman, who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora and sends positive energy out into the forest through her music.

Na’vi River Journey will open with Pandora – The World of AVATAR in 2017

I hope this is guest paddled canoes! One of my favourite things to do in Disneyland is "splash" around in their canoes. :cap:

Too many alligators for me to get in that water.

I'm actually a little more excited about this attraction then the flight simulator. If it is indeed done like the renderings show it looks like a totally immersive ride on the lines of the inside of Splash. Also, I love lights. I still act like a 5 year old when I see the glow carts come out at night :-)

Agreed. Personally, I am sick of the simulators.

I recently got a close up look at the entire scale model of "Pandora - The World of Avatar". The water ride is going to be awesome during the day, and even more so after dark. I think guests will be completely "wowed" by the new night time AK. It's already beautiful at night, but most guests don't get to experience it because of the early closing times. With the new "Rivers of Light" shows, the new Tree of Life lighting, the night safari ride and the large Pandora area, the park is going to be spectacular at night.

I'm looking forward to this. AK is already my favorite park, and these enhancements will only make it better.

Are all of these attractions going to open at once?

Rivers of Light and night lighting of the Tree of Life will open in 2016 (no date yet announced). Pandora, with its Na'vi River Journey and indoor Flight of Passage ride will open in 2017. The night safari may be open in 2016, but again no date has been announced.

I have never seen Avatar but think this looks like a good attraction. The DAK is my favorite Florida park so I'm all for new attractions to make it a true "all day" park are great. I just am surprised at how long this land has taken to complete. But I guess it has taken a long time for Avatar 2 to come out so maybe they will line up and it will all make sense.

MY DD is a CM at AK and said that this new area will be amazing. She got to go to a meeting about Pandora and was able to see some of the stuff that they are planning. I was not originally excited about it but after what she told me and what I see on here I have made a 180 and can't wait to experience it all.

Is anyone else surprised by what appears to be small capacity on the boat? It looks like it will be two rows with a six person capacity.

I hope they really deliver on it. It can be pretty bad when amazing concept art/hype is put out there and then it either wasn't built anywhere close to that or a few years later it is in such a state that it never lives up to the hype for most guests.
