We have an option of staying over Thanksgiving day this year but have no idea what all special stuff is available, like Thanksgiving meals, parades, etc.
Anyone ever done this?
We are staying at the Polynesian so a dinner close by would be best?

We were there over Thanksgiving once but that was a number of years ago. I don't believe there are any special parades related to Thanksgiving. Usually, all the Christmas decorations are up by this time. I believe many of the restaurants will include traditional Thanksgiving items on their menu for that day. Some of the resorts may have activities that are Thanksgiving themed but you'd need to check the activity list for the resort to determine that.

We were there for Thanksgiving Week 4 years ago. All the decorations were up at the parks and resorts except for the MK tree. Nothing special as the last MVMCP will be on 11/20 and will not be held again until 11/29. The regular parades and shows will be at the parks. On the day of the holiday most restaurants both CS and TS should serve some type of holiday food in addition to or in place of the regular food so at this point I would see what is available if you want TS. On Black Friday Holidays Around the World (the storytellers in various countries) and CP will be at EPCOT. I would suggest trying to see if you can get a dining package for the CP as that is the only way to guarantee you get in. The narrator for the first few days is still TBD. Don't forget the Osbourne Lights at HS as this will be the last year. A few years ago when we went in early December they had holiday treats and drinks for purchase. We are going this year as well for Thanksgiving Week and will also be at the Poly for the first part of our trip.

We're heading there as well - and can recall doing thanksgiving a 2-3years ago there. Stayed at pop century and had our turkey dinner at the food court and it wasn't half bad. I don't think the parks were overly crowded either.

The Orlando Classic is happening this year over thanksgiving at the Milkhouse at ESPN Wide World of Sports - some great college hoops teams will be playing and plenty of seats will be available if you are into it :)
