Rope Drop During Railroad Refurb?

Newbie here, so advance apologies if I'm asking a repeat question or asking in the wrong manner/thread. :confused:

Does anyone know if rope drop will happen since the railroad is closed for refurb at MK? If so, will they still have characters, etc.?

If I'm remembering correctly, in the past when the RR has been under refurb the opening ceremony just hasn't happened. A voice counted down the opening, the CM's threw "pixie dust" in the air and away everyone went. But no characters or anything else. There were the Main St. singers/dancers waiting on Main St to welcome everyone.
