Just got back and I have to say my DS and I had the best time!! We stayed at the campground. We rented a golf cart and had so much fun, that we never even wanted to hit the parks.. Well, we went to MK for about 2 hours and then back to the grounds. We were at MK just in time for the storm. I have always been lucky with the weather, but not Saturday! It was a bad one and of course we were 2 people back to get on the boat and they stopped running them, so we had to wait out the storm for about 30 mins. I felt bad for the little ones it was scary thunder and lighting :scared::scared: . After that it was clear to go. We cruised around the park checking out all the RV's and Camp sites. He had a blast.. I think this is my new place to stay. Our Cabin was in a great spot too. I'm going to start looking at Jan. 2016 for our next adventure..:cloud9: :mickey:

What a relaxing weekend!!! no rushing for rides or parks.. I could get used to this. Of course the family was like "you ever went on the rides" my DS reply " we had too much fun at the campgrounds & on our golf cart" :D

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Fort Wilderness!! It's where I stayed for my first trip to the World and still consider it my home away from home!!

Awesome! We're doing our first cabin trip next year - any advice on location or other tips?

We stayed in the 2600 (2700,2800 I liked the area too). It was pretty close to the front of the resort. I would ask for the lower number cabins. Each area starts with 01, They are closer to the buses. Next time I would like to stay in 2601 or with in 5 cabins of that. Just in case we use the bus. We were in 2622 and it would have been a slow walk to the bus stop..lol Check out the map on line and you can decide where you would prefer to be. You might prefer to be closer to the boats, pools, store etc. :mickey: If you can rent the golf cart it was great to cruise around and check everything out. That you can book a year in advance and depending when you're going I would look into it. They go fast. I just booked mine for Jan 2016 (and I haven't even booked the cabin yet) :D
