How crowded is the Monday-Wednesday before Thanksgiving at DLR? I've been several times to WDW at this time but I am wondering how they compare. Also - Is the HM overlay and the ghost galaxy at Space still running at this time or do they stop those before this time? DH will be crushed if they aren't still up :D

We went Monday through Sunday during Thanksgiving week last year. It was very crowded the entire week. I'm not sure there was a noticeable difference in crowds the few days before Thanksgiving versus Thanksgiving Day through the weekend. We had a terrific time and were able to do a lot. But to answer your question directly, I did not notice a difference in crowds at any point during our week.

We spent Thanksgiving week at WDW the year prior. Crowd levels seemed roughly the same to me between WDW and DL.

Last year, Space Mountain was already back to normal (no Ghost Galaxy overlay) by Thanksgiving week, but the spectacular HM overlay was still in place through the entire week. I can only speak from first-hand experience, but I presume it is this way every year. Based on the theming of those overlays, it makes sense: Ghost Galaxy is a Halloween theme and wouldn't make sense through Thanksgiving and Xmas, whereas the HM overlay is a combination Halloween / Xmas theme, so it makes sense that overlay would start during the Halloween season and remain all the way through Xmas. I love the HM overlay!

Over the past 15 years as many schools started observing the entire week of Thanksgiving as a break, rather than just a four day weekend, I think the crowds have picked up. All Annual Passes are valid during the Monday-Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving as well, so that will add to the visitors. Still, I don't think the crowds are unmanageable.

It's true that Ghost Galaxy goes away immediately following Halloween but it is a quick switch back to the regular Space Mountain themeing so that should be up and running. Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion continues through to the New Year, so you will be able to see that. And also it's a small world will be dressed up for the holidays. If you ask me it is not to be missed.
