I need help! I am getting ready to book our Christmas Trip and this will be the first time staying in a Deluxe!

I decided I wanted to be close enough to walk back and forth to Epcot and think I would prefer to stay at Beach Club.

Can you tell me what are the differences for Villa verses the Resort?
I see the villas are a little cheaper and have the kitchenette but that is really the only difference I can see.

Right now I am just planning to book with myself and DD in my room but we could be adding 1 additional adult for our trip.

Frankly the villas are not as nice as the resort. The villas are the Vacation Club portion of the Beach Club. They are a bit run down and not as "fancy." The resort itself is undergoing complete room renovations that will be done by December. I would 100% choose the Resort over a villa unless you absolutely NEED a multi room unit, a full kitchen, and an in room washer/dryer (found in 1 and 2 bedroom units only).

Thanks for the response BrerGnat. So just to clarify, only the Resort is being renovated? Not the Villas? Also, I would not really want to book a resort room and then be staying in renovation mess, any idea when they are scheduled to complete? Not sure if having the kitchen is necessary or not...

The villas are scheduled to be renovated later this year. I think the BC rooms should be done by the end of the summer, if they are not already done.

I am staying at BCV in late November. I received a letter from Disney telling me that there will be renovations. I was also told that the BCV Renovations have started and will be done by the end of the year. So by the end of November and December we should be in a renovated room as not much should be left to do. SHOULD. I'm hoping that's the case. We love having the one bedroom but there are 4 of us. It gives us the room we need. I can not speak for the resort rooms. the resort itself is great and you cannot beat the location. This is our 2nd time at BCV. Whatever you decide I'm sure you will have a great time.

Thanks Margiem for the reply.

I did book the BC Resort last night. I went with the resort because there was no BCV available for free dinning. My ressie might change a bit once my DD begins work at WDW as a CM. We will see about switching it around for her CM discount. But since I have no idea if there will be anything available I went ahead and booked it with the free dinning for now.

I am really excited to visit BC for our first deluxe resort. I chose it basically because I wanted to be able to try a lot of new dinning there and on visit the board walk, which we have never done before. Also, I wanted to be able to walk to Epcot and back to the resort whenever I wanted.

Very excited! :santa3:

Well unfortunately this may not be at the case after all. With the scrambling to move VWL guests for the early construction they have reportedly taken the BCV rooms that were scheduled for rehab and put them back into service to accommodate the VWL overflow. BCV room refurb is expected to begin again in January. This is what members are being told that are being rebooked there. So it appears some will be done but it will not be complete.

IMO somebody really dropped the ball on this whole thing.

I am glad I booked the resort then. That is disappointing. Thanks for the update.
