2 tables for 3 vs. 1 table for 6?

We're a family of 6. I'm having a difficult time finding tables for 6 in Magic Kingdom for our upcoming November trip, but I have little problem finding tables for 2, 3 or 4. If I try to book 2 tables for 3, would MDE make me cancel the first table for 3 when I make the 2nd reservation for 3?

No, since you will be attaching different people to each table via My Disney Experience.

We've had to do this a few times when my parents are with us and we are a party of 7. I've even had a party of 4 and a party of 3 with reservations 5 minutes apart. When we check in, we tell them the circumstance and they are almost always able to make it work. A couple of time we were at two tables.
