I know WDW guests who only sleep and shower at their resort while they spend all their waking hours at WDW parks.

At the cabins at Fort Wilderness, you can go to a campfire sing-along
… and dance with Chip and Dale
… and watch a movie under the stars,
… and go on a trail ride.
…and take your young ones on a pony ride,
…and swim in great themed pools with special areas of water fun for little guests,
…and walk you dog,
…and park 10 feet from your front door,
…and grill steaks on your own deck,
…then eat on your picnic table,
…while enjoying a pitcher of Margaritas
…that you made in your kitchen where there is pitcher and glasses,
…and ice from a full size refrigerator waiting.
…while the kid who is still wound up rides his bike around the neighborhood
…and the kid who is konked out sleeps in her bed,
… in a bedroom,
… with the door closed and the lights out.

Tomorrow morning we’ll go fishing or canoeing
…then we’ll use FP+s to ride Expedition Everest.

Later this week we'll walk to the Hoop Dee Doo Review and sit on the beach and watch MK fireworks.

Therefore, only sleeping and showering there without taking advantage of all that is offered is not the best approach.
