Walt Disney World has its fair share of strange stories, and one of the weirdest happened on Monday night. A man ended up having a bit too much to drink while at a restaurant at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, and it led to him crashing through the window of a golf cart and going for a swim in Bay Lake before being arrested.

Trying to figure out the crashing thru a plexiglass windshield on the golf card myself... File this under how to ruin a vacation with the family. How did your trip to Disney go? Well, Dad got a little crazy, drank too much, crashed thru a windshield of a golf cart and then went for a swim in bay lake before he got arrested... and we got Mickey's autograph ;)

Good times... good times.

So I understand that drinking too much has been known to impair people's judgement and reduce mental capacity. But for the life of me I can't figure out in what universe stealing a golf cart by jumping through the windshield instead of stepping through the non-existent door would ever even come to mind as an alternative.

I sure hope somebody got this recorded in 1080HD so we can all enjoy it soon... ;)

When in doubt...PRESS RECORD!

And I can see the lawsuit coming against Disney because he will claim he was over served .

So that restaurant would be Crockett's Tavern? It's the only place that serves alcohol in Fort Wilderness, right?

That is truly a bizarre story. It's sounds like we are missing some of the details.

Between the bail $$ and the money for the damages, imagine the WDW vacation they could have had.

Wonder if he had any drinks prior to going to the restaurant or bar.

That and Hoop De Doo. I actually thought it was HDD because of the "all you can drink" beer.

The fact that this guy was that wasted is not a good thing for whomever served him...

That may actually be a valid suit, though. Many states have laws regarding the responsibility of the bar tender to not over serve patrons. They can be held liable for any incidents that occur after the patron leaves the bar. Not sure what Florida state law has to say about this.

This is my bet on the situation.

Yikes! What a scene. Sounds more like a drug-induced kind of event rather than a drunk one but you never know.

The article states he was at Trail's End.

Earlier in the night, Hall had been at the Trail’s End Restaurant at Fort Wilderness and had been drinking. It was then that he attempted to leave the location on a bicycle, and a restaurant manager noticed he was having trouble staying balanced.

After witnessing Hall fall a number of times while on the bicycle, the manager hopped into a Walt Disney World golf cart and caught up with him to assist the guest.

Upon catching up with Hall, the manager hopped out of the golf cart and went to help. That was when Hall ran toward the golf cart, jumped, and crashed right through the plastic windshield of the vehicle.

Oh wow, the guy sounds like a case.

So they serve alcohol at Trail's End? Or maybe they confused it with Crockett's Tavern next door. In any case, it does sound like he should have been cut-off prior than getting to that point.

Yes, there is actually a bar in the lower level of Trails End. That may even be Crockett's Tavern, but they are interconnected. :mickey:
