Fast pass

What is the best way to use fast pass?
I heard that some rides are link together and some others are separate, so you can have have two sets at same time?

At this point in time I believe it is running like this . . .
FastPasses for Fantasmic! and World of Color are independent of everything else in both parks.
FastPasses for attractions at Disneyland are not linked with FastPasses for attractions at Disney California Adventure.

So, for example, you could hold a FastPass for Fantasmic!, Space Mountain, and Soarin' Over California all at the same time.
