I am so excited, I can't stand it! :joy:

Hub and I are going to become fulltime Airstreamers. Our house is going on the market this Sunday. We are picking up our new home, a 2015 Airstream Classic, in Tampa the first week in May and will be spending our "shakedown" at Fort Wilderness. This will be our first time staying there.

We will be able to catch one of the last days of the Flower and Garden Festival while we are there. Yay! :)

Airstreams are so awesome! Our DD and SIL had an older one (waaay before slides) that had been very well maintained. All the bells and whistles were fantastic.

Enjoy your shakedown cruise! There's something special about a shakedown and at Ft Wilderness, I'm so envious. FW is one of our all time favorite campgrounds.

Any shakedown trip usually includes unexpected problems or "how do I do this?" questions. You will have plenty of experts nearby among your FW neighbors. Don't hesitate to ask. And have a magical stay at the Fort! :mickey:

The term is often used with ships wherein a shakedown cruise is an initial cruise to check to see if there are any problems / issues to address.

Congrats fellow Airstreamer. Ours is a vintage one (1967) that still needs some work and I'd love to take it to FW someday. But we're also DVC members at BLT, so we stay at those villas when we're at WDW.

You're going to love Ft. Wilderness!! I want to get an RV (in the future) just to stay there..lol I love the way everyone looked so at home with all the comforts surrounding their RV's..:cloud9: :mickey:

I would add what might seem obvious; be sure to enjoy Fort Wilderness. You will stay many places in your with your Airstream but at Fort Wilderness you can dance with Chip and Dale, enjoy the Hoop Dee Do Review and sit on the beach and watch the MK fireworks.
