As I was cleaning out some "stuff" today, I ran across an old collection of Official Birnbaum Guides to WDW from the early 80's (I believe that the first one was 1982). In the 1983 guide (the first one featuring EPCOT Center) I found my 3 Day World Passport from opening week stamped 10/5, 10/6 & 10/7/1982. Included was an unused EPCOT Center One Day Comp ticket that I received when I complimented Guest Services on how smoothly the week was going even with all of the glitches (bleeding edge technology at the time and all). They were being swamped with complaints.
If I'm not mistaken, I paid $30 for the 3 day commemorative ticket in March of 1982 with plans to be there as close to opening day as possible. BTW, all tickets then were non-expiring park hoppers... my how things change.
