Is DAS the same system that Disneyland has?

I haven't been to Disney World in several years. When I did, the GAC was in use. I have gone to Disneyland and thought the system they have in place there is fantastic. The DAS sounds like the same thing. Is there anyone who has used both that can compare them for me?
