While speaking to a BC villa concierge CM last week, we discussed the waste of packaging, plastic, and postage that comes from receiving MBs for every trip. He informed us that the option to “reuse/decline” another MB is on its way to MDE in the near future. It will be on the same page where you customize them. Also, the boxes that they are delivered in will be made with more recycled material and may reflect that in their look/design.

You are still able to recycle any that you do not want at the front desk (just don’t customize), but wait until the end of your trip just in case you lose your current one, or you don’t have any extra with you.

The current MB "life" seems to be about two years.

Hope this info helps!

The current MB "life" seems to be about two years.

I think this will be the key point. They would need to do studies to determine the average "shelf life" of a MB first though. (In the text below, substitute "shelf life" for two years.)

Maybe they should look at when your last visit was and only offer a new MB if it has been over two years since you received your "active" band.

If it has been less that two years, they could/should give you an option to "upgrade" your active MB for a nominal fee. (Maybe 25% of the cost to purchase one outright?)

One qualifier: If it has been less than two years and you opt out of "upgrading" or purchasing new and your active band does not work when you arrive, you should be issued a new band at no charge.

Just my 2 cents worth....
