When to go in June?

We have decided to do something different this year and go to Disneyland for the first time instead of WDW. We want to go in June after the 5th but having trouble deciding when to go. I want to avoid Grad Nights and also want to go when some of the annual pass holders are blacked out. My major worry is the crowds. Is it better to go on a weekend or weekday? Do the blackout dates really effect the crowds? Is it worth the trip coming clear from the east coast? We will probably purchase a city pass and go to Disneyland for 3 days. I need a Disneyland veterans help!! Thanks!

We were there June 27 to July 3 this year and the crowds weren't bad at all. We had a friend join us that lives out there and she said it was because the SoCal passes were blacked out and was amazed at the lack of crowds. If i had to put a number on it I would say 6 on a scale of 1 - 10.
