Outside company tickets and FP+

I was planning on buying two adult tickets through an outside site. I know once they arrive in around 7 days I can link them to My Disney Experience and begin getting FP+ reservations. Question is can I do this as soon as I buy them do they send you the ticket number to link up or do I have to wait to get the physical ticket in the mail?

On the WDW site if you buy them you can link them up right away. Thanks.

It might vary from company to company so you might need to contact the company you plan to purchase from to see how it works with that company.
