Hey friends!! I have a question about the DVC construction at the Poly. We have plans to watch hallowishes on the poly beach the 2nd week of September. Is the beach closed right now because of the DVC construction? Or can guests still get on the beach area to watch?

Hey Zip, all the current pics I've seen of the construction (Destruction) is to the right of the beach towards TTC. Not sure what they will have closed off by the time of your (our) trip. We will also be at DISNEY same time, September 13 - 23, 2014. We also enjoy going over to the Poly Beach for Fireworks when it's not a MK Park night. Maybe someone at DISNEY or the POLY now can give an update on access to the grounds.

See You On The BEACH, :fworks:

The entire west side of the beach from the Hawaii Building to the launch dock is now fenced off and will be during the pool refurb. The east end of the main beach is fenced off near the end of the Hawaii Building. The bungalows partially obscure the view from the middle of the Hawaii Building to the east fenced off portion.

In other words, the good viewing area on the main beach is now restricted. They are considering restricting the beach on at least some occasions to the resort guests only and they are talking about it becoming permanent when the DVC opens. Just be aware that you should keep watching this situation in case access becomes exclusive to Poly guests.

Thanks so much for the info...on to plan B! Usually we eat at narcoossee's and then watch the show from the balcony. My question now though, is ... Do they allow guests who aren't eating at narcoossee's to stand on the balcony and watch?

The marina area near Gasparilla Grill is actually a better place for fireworks viewing than Narcoossee's. The castle is centrally framed in that location, though the fireworks are more off to one side (also at Narcoossee's) because you're not viewing straight on as you are at the Poly. The tree obstruction is still there for lower lying fireworks, but not as bad as it is at the Narcoossee's viewing spot. Overall, you can see more from the marina than you can at Narcoossee's, plus there are tables out there where you can sit with a snack while you wait. Everyone goes for the boat dock/Narcoossee's, apparently not realizing there is a better viewing spot at the GF. The downside is that you have to relocate to the beach/boat dock for the water parade.
