We will be attending this for the first time in a couple of weeks and I have a couple of questions....

1) what is the best way to assure decent seating? How does the process work?

2) we will have a rental car with us. Is it worth driving to the campgrounds vs. Disney transportation? I am wondering more from an exiting standpoint after the BBQ.

I'd appreciate any input from those who have done this recently. Thanks.

You can take the bus transportation. Once you get to the campground take the yellow line bus straight to bus stop in front of the restaurant. Or take the boat from outside the Magic Kingdom. If you are staying at Wilderness Lodge or the Contemporary Resort they also havea boat that goes to the campground. Is a very short walk to the restaurant.

If you want a seat close to the large dance floor, the only way is to be there early. However, having been there twice, I don't think any of it is bad seating. There are two smaller dance floors off to each side and it's actually easier for the kids to interact with the characters on those dance floors. They all rotate. It's also very easy to participate in whatever's happening on the big dance floor no matter where you're sitting. We walked away from our seats many times with no issues.

Getting there... we've never driven or taken the bus. We always went after an MK day and took the boat over. From the boat dock it's a short walk to the BBQ.

Hope you have a blast! :mickey:
