Falling into Refurbs

7/26/14 The Walt Disney World Railroad at the Magic Kingdom park is scheduled to close for refurbishment this Fall. The popular attraction and mode of transportation is scheduled to be closed for track maintenance September 28 through November 8, 2014. During the closure, the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour will not be offered.

6/28/14 Guests at Disney's Wilderness Lodge resort will have fewer pool options this Fall. The Silver Creek Springs pool is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment September 3 through November 27, 2014. During this time Guests may still enjoy the Quiet Pool at the resort. Additionally, bus transportation will be offered to allow Guests to use the pools at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

A Sweet Freeze

7/26/14 The Frozen Summer Fun event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has spread some unique treats across the park. Hollywood Scoops, on Sunset Blvd., has introduced the “Do you Want to Build an Ice Cream Sandwich” ice cream sandwich. This deliciously redundant treat is comprised of your choice of ice cream sandwiched between two blue sprinkled sugar cookies priced at $4.19. Multiple locations around the park are offering Character Cupcakes that depict Olaf, Anna , or Elsa with cake and mounds of icing. The Olaf cupcake is constructed out of carrot cake, cream cheese icing and white chocolate; the Anna cupcake is constructed out of chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream icing, and white chocolate; and the Elsa cupcake is constructed out of white cake, vanilla butter cream icing and white chocolate. These confectionary characters are priced at $5.19 at most locations.

Savings are the Spice of Summer

7/26/14 One of Epcot’s small plate dining locations has announced a treat for Passholder’s wallets this Summer. Spice Road Table, located in the Morocco Pavilion of World Showcase, has announced Passholders can receive a 30% discount off regular menu items through September 17, 2014.

Co-Op Switch-Up

7/26/14 The Marketplace Co-Op has added a small new section. The Downtown Disney Marketplace retail location has added a WonderGround Gallery display near the main entrance area. The display contains many of the prints, postcards, and magnets featured at the Downtown Disney Anaheim location.

A Parking Predicament

7/26/14 Parking at Downtown Disney is expected to reduce capacity further this Summer and alter traffic flows. Area Cast have reported that all traffic will be directed to the Pleasure Island entrance (across from the Hess Station) and the West Side entrance (across from the Typhoon Lagoon entrance) as construction continues. In additions to the restrictions, the parking lot near La Nouba (L) is planned to conduct rolling, partial closures.

3/23/14 Parking lots continue to close at Downtown Disney as Disney Springs construction expands. The two Pleasure Island parking lots (G and F) and the parking lot near T-REX Cafe (E) have now closed.

Breakfast on the Boardwalk

7/26/14 Disney’s Boardwalk has announced a temporary Breakfast offering to bridge the gap between Kouzzina’s closure and Trattoria al Forno’s opening. From October 1 through December 7, 2014; The Flying Fish Café will offer a daily breakfast seating from 7:30 am to 11:00 am.

L’New

7/26/14 La Nouba has begun offering a new backstage tour and show experience at its Downtown Disney Westside location. L'Experience is a $250 per person experience that includes a Backstage tour, meet and greet with a Cirque du Soleil artist, front and center seating to a La Nouba performance, souvenir popcorn, soft drink, and Cirque du Soleil merchandise. L'Experience is currently offered for Friday and Saturday 6:00 PM performances only. Tickets may be purchased via (407) 939-7328.

Tip Not Included

7/26/14 Construction walls are in place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the Disney Outfitters store begins its expansion project. In addition to the expanded store, Animal Kingdom Cast have also reported that the reclaimed plot is slated to also become home to a new animal exhibit.

6/28/14 Animal Kingdom Cast Members have reported that the park’s Tip Board has permanently ceased operation. The current area will reportedly be consumed by an expansion of the nearby Disney Outfitters store later this Summer. No relocation or replacement of the Tip Board has been reported, Cast have reportedly been informed to direct Guests to use the My Disney Experience App.

A Long Intermission

6/28/14 Disney’s All-Star Music resort is following in the footsteps of its Sports brethren and performing a full renovation of its Food Court. The Intermission Food Court has been announced to close for refurbishment August 1 through December 20, 2014. During this closure, Guests will have Grab ‘n Go options available at the resort and bus transportation will be provided to the End Zone Food Court at Disney All-Star Sports Resort and the World Premiere Food Court at Disney All-Star Movies Resort. To be converted to the Grab ‘n Go station, the Note'able Games Arcade will close on July 27, 2014.

A Royal Refurb

6/28/14 A popular Magic Kingdom table service restaurant is planned to close just after the 2014/2015 Peak Holiday season. It has been internally announced that Cinderella's Royal Table will be closed for refurbishment January 5th through March 6th, 2015.

A Cosmic Cool

6/28/14 Guests have a new way to cool off in the Magic Kingdom’s Tommorowland. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is now offering a Cherry Slush topped with Lemon-Lime “Fomz” priced at $4.49.

Shopping Shakeup

7/24/14 The refurbishment of Yankee Trader has been reportedly shortened by 3 weeks, now scheduled to begin July 28th.

6/28/14 A Magic Kingdom store is slated for a multi-month refurbishment starting later this Summer. It has been internally announced that Yankee Trader is schedule to be closed for renovations July 7 through September 30, 2014. A reason for the lengthy refurbishment to the Liberty Square retail location has not been announced, although some Cast are speculating the closure could be to make the location the official gift shop for the Haunted Mansion attraction.

Snow Where?

6/28/14 Guests wishing to meet Snow White at the Magic Kingdom need to look for her in a new location. As of June 22, 2014; Guests may typically find Snow White on Main Street U.S.A. near Town Square Theater intermittently from park open till 2:00 pm.

View to a Refurb

6/28/14 Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has announced that the Garden View Tea Room is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment June 30 through August 29, 2014. During the closure, Cítricos will host the Afternoon Tea and My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party events.

A New Cool

6/28/14Epcot’s World Showcase has added some new ways for Guests to cool down as they stroll along the promenade. The Refreshment Cool Post has added three varieties of frozen yogurt priced at $3.99: Pineapple, Coconut, and Pineapple-Coconut Swirl.

Cocktail Kingdom

6/28/14 Disney’s Animal Kingdom has introduced two new lemonade based cocktails. Corn-Ivores Popcorn Cart, in the Dinoland section of the park, has introduced the Carnival Cocktail priced at $8.00. This blue-hued mixed drink is a combination of Lemonade, Cotton Candy, and Bacardi Black Razz Rum. Drinkwallah, in the Asia section of the park, has introduced the Coconut-Lychee Lemonade priced at $6.75. The mixed drink is comprised of Lemonade, Lychees, and Coconut Rum.

Getting the Cold Shoulder?

6/28/14 The character line-up at Princess Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland has recently undergone a minor change. Earlier this month, Aurora moved from Princess Fairytale Hall to Town Square Courtyard on Main Street U.S.A. Anna and Elsa are continuing to meet Guests at Princess Fairytale Hall without a “visiting princess”.

6/28/14 As part of the Disney Springs project, the Cap’n Jack’s Margarita Bar has closed. Concept art on the surrounding construction walls indicate a new Margarita Bar coming to the same location; however, an opening date has not been announced.

Phoning It In

6/28/14 After short hiatus, Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure began operation again on June 27th with brand new F.O.N.E. devices. The new devices appear to be based on the Nokia Lumina smart phone or similar device.
