In case you haven't tried it, I want to make sure people know how good this dish is!!! The Chile Relleno knocked my socks off. It was spicy, sweet and savory. How can a dish be all 3? No idea, but they did it. I want to eat one every time I got back now.

Here is the description from the menu: Poblano pepper stuffed with pork, pine nuts, and almonds, topped with roasted tomato sauce.

One weird thing about the restaurant, though. They offered me a reservation for 8:45pm. So I took it. We got there early to be seated and the staff let us know that we should hurry up b/c their kitchen would be closing shortly. We were completely rushed during our meal. But it didn't stop us from having a great time and great food. We just ignored the tense looks we were getting from the staff and had fun. Perhaps the time shouldn't have been offered if it was frowned upon. Oh well, live and learn and eat Chile Rellenos!!!

I've had some delicious chile relleno, but I haven't had theirs. I will give it a shot next time I'm there. Thanks for the recommendation. We actually like San Angel Inn, though I know it gets some deserved hard knocks. Sorry you felt rushed though. That's unusual.

We gave that place two chances and they came up short both times. Our biggest upset was the wait staff. The atmospehre is incredible and I'd love to go back, but I cannot put that kind of money in another failed attempt.

Was anyone else dining or checking in at the same time as you?? Strange they were rushing you. Glad you enjoyed your meal!

We had a similar uncomfortable experience at Tutto Italia in Epcot last trip.

Epcot had EMH, and the World Showcase was scheduled to be open late. We decided to close our day out there and when we got hungry, we decided to have some Pizza at Tutto Italia. They were in the pre-show music for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth when we approached the hostess. We could see, they had other tables with the chairs placed on them, signifying they were closing soon even though they were supposed to remain open through EMH.

We asked the hostess if it was too late to be seated for pizza. She didn't answer. Instead, she looked to her left for the manager. Then, we looked to the manager and asked if we could be seated for pizza.

"When the fireworks are over, we're closed!"

The hostess said, "They're just having pizza."
"Fine. Get them a seat."

They took down chairs on one table and sat us, despite there being other tables that weren't already "closed." I guess they wanted to make a point that we shouldn't be ordering even though they were scheduled to be open several more hours.

A "Higher-Up" CM must have overheard the manager because as soon as we sat, the CM approached the manager. We couldn't hear the conversation, but it appeared to be tense.

Finally, the manager said loud enough for the staff to hear, "We stay open until 10 and then we close!"

The pizza was terrific. Truly delicious. But it was overshadowed by how uncomfortable we felt. They were all speaking Italian around us. And although I understand some Italian, I couldn't make out any conversation. They all seemed unhappy with us except the waitress, who continually kept saying, "It's OK. Take your time."

I'd still go back, but definitely earlier in the day.

Are you sure you weren't at Via Napoli In the same pavilion. Via Napoli specializes in pizza. Tutto Italia doesn't offer it, at least I don't think so. Not that it makes much difference in your comment, that being late left you feeling rushed and maybe a little unwelcome.

We have had some unpleasantries with the manager at Via Napoli… Which is sad, because the food and other wait staff is phenomenal! We got caught one day (a party of 6) without a reservation for the day, and some cranky people in the party were exhausted and needed to sit down for a while. We asked the hostess if there was any possibility they were taking walk-ins (as it was very obviously not busy) and she was happy to oblige. Then we watched her get chewed out by the manager about them no longer taking walk-ins, and he very begrudgingly sat us afterwards. We felt bad for the girl- there was no reason for him to pitch such a fit. I mean, we totally could have taken our business elsewhere if he was so dead-set on not taking walk-ins. :-o

SBETigg, I'm not sure. I know it was in Italy in the rear.

Beside the manager, who was emphatic about closing at 10:00, there were a male and female employees, who were clearly annoyed we were seated. Our waitress, however, kept reassuring us it was fine and to please enjoy our meal. "No hurry. Take your time."

There were other diners in the restaurant. Not many, but a few. But there was no one around us and the annoyed female ran the vacuum cleaner all through our section and as near to our legs without hitting us as she could while we waited for our pizza. It was uncomfortable. But the pizza was fantastic.

Yeah, that's Via Napoli. Tutto Italia is to the left side. But it's a shame that you had such a bad experience. After they agree to seat you at that time, they should be pleasant and attentive. At least your server was on her game and the food was good.

I did not notice anyone else checking in. Good question. The dinning room was full, though! Lots of people still getting their food, ordering drinks, etc when we got seated.

Same here. Live and learn and make life easier for myself.
