Magic Bands and off site stay

We will be coming to the Orlando area near the end of March and will be buying hopper tickets. If you stay off site will you still get the Magic Bands once you get there or will we need to use the cards all week?

At this point, I've heard very little about how this will work for off-site guests except they will currently have some sort of day-of access to fastpasses...

I'm sure more will be announced over time.
