I booked this for my wife's birthday dinner. Has anyone ever eaten here? How is it?

During our trip in August we went there twice and enjoyed it. My grandson got to be farmer of the day and the chef made us a desert with fruit my grandson picked out.

I've never heard of that before, very cool!

Our experiences at this location have been a mixed bag. The first time we ate here, we ate at the bar as we were unable to get a dining reservation anywhere in a general vicinity. The food was so delicious we booked a reservation for our next trip. On that occasion, we were underwhelmed with the food. We ate here again almost two years and ago. Food and service were both good on that trip.

We eat there every trip we enjoy it so much. Other that the view that Cali Grill has we think that the food is just as good.

I introduced my daughter and her family a few years ago and she goes there almost every trip.

We will both be there again in December on our next trip.

Try it you will like it....

I thought it was lovely. I enjoyed the food. It was slightly loud, but it was Friday and busy. We also had a table in the middle of the dining room. Had we sat in a booth, it may have been a little different.

We really enjoyed the food. :mickey:

We liked it but did not love it. It seemed kind of ordinary. The filet mignon was fine, but the experience lacked distinction.

The first time my family ate back there in 2008 we absolutely loved it. I ordered a seafood pasta and it was yummy.
However, when we went this past August 2/3 people that ordered the lamb chops received raw meat. We sent it back and the managers came out and graciously apologized and offered 2 brand new chops and fresh sides. I was the 1/3 that had cooked lamb chops and I really enjoyed the risotto that came with it.
For desert they offer trios. I personally am not a big fan of this concept although the waitress offered to allow us to choose what combo we wanted. She did add that it made it a tad more complicated for the chefs though. I personally enjoy one big desert rather than 3 small ones especially since I don't like chocolate and most of the trios had at least one chocolate desert. It was cool however that one of the deserts had edible gold on it.

I don't mean to put you down but I would have selected California Grill over this restaurant. The Wave is ok, nothing special and the decor isn't that great. It's still a Disney restaurant so it's not your local Applebees, but I would have gone with something else. Best of luck to you and I hope your wife has a wonderful birthday.

I don't feel like you are putting me down. I am asking for opinions. Her first pick was O'Hana's, but the first available times the days we are there are between 9 and 9:30 pm. We can't eat that late and be comfortable. She chose The Wave because it was something different. I was just getting opinions to see how the experience here was.

Not sure what your price range is but if you're interested I would recommend The Turf Club Bar and Grill at Saratoga Springs is phenomenal and nice and romantic. The best part is after your meal you can hop on a boat and go to Downtown Disney for after dinner drinks and entertainment/shopping.
