We rose early to get a good start at MK. I was so excited to head over with everyone and have Joey see Mickey for the first time. At some point later in the trip I realized I needed to lower my expectations, but I was still in a fog of disillusion I think :cloud9: so I was hopeful we would be there for rope drop. We were not. Either way, we got there about 15 mintues after park opening. MIL stayed back at the resort. When we went in the gates, again, everyone's bands worked but mine and DHs. We had checked them the night before and they had worked on our door after they were "fixed" but apparently the ticket piece was not working. The CM called over another CM who looked something up on his Ipad. They told us we didn't have valid park tickets. Luckily I had photos of them (thanks Intercot bloggers for the tip!) so they sent us to another CM to have him assist us. After 30 minutes with him/waiting we sent my parents on with the kids to go do rides. He sent us on to another CM at the MagicBand Guest Relations area. Another 15 minutes of waiting in line, and another 15 minutes of being helped before our bands were squared away enough to use them for the time being. We were told we would also need to go to Guest Relations with everyone in our party and their paper tickets and MagicBands to have them all re-confirmed. Again, really kicking myself that I didn't call. We were issued two complimentary fast-passes for our wait for anything we wanted to use them on.

We called my parents and met up with them just in time to make our reserved Voyage of the Little Mermaid FP+ reservation. I have to say it totally bummed me out to hear them talk about how amazing it was to take Joey (and Eva) on the Carousel and Dumbo for his first rides and how excited he got. :sob: Voyage was neat, a fun addition to FL, and then we headed to Pirate's. Lunch at Columbia Harbour House. Back to the room for a nap/pool time. DH/DD rode BTM and SM and then came back, too. We all headed to MK for HM later in the afternoon, with dinner at LTT. Food was good. My dad didn't think it was all that hot, but I was too hungry to care. :) I was unsure about how everyone would like the new dessert but it went over well. It was MNSSHP so we were escorted out afterwards. I headed down to the front desk with all of our magic bands (both sets), our paper tickets, our KTTW cards, and a wish on a wing and a prayer that someone would be able to fix everything. I was thrilled to find out that person did exist and, after about 25 more minutes, they were able to get all of our tickets, bands, KTTW cards, FP+s, and dining reservations linked and working. Amazing! They even dropped off some little 2013 band slides for us at our room for our inconvenience. A little pool time and then we watched the fireworks from our balcony. A nice end to a not so great start of the day.

That was a disappointing start to the day! Sor far, you've spent a lot of time trying to get your "magic" bands working - not sounding too magical at the moment!

Ending your day with fireworks from your balcony was a very nice moment!!

Sorry for all the issues, I'm seeing a lot of posters have similar problems. Thanks for the report

So disappointing with all the extra time you had to waste getting the magic bands fixed.:( Hope it went smoothly after that start.
