Day 12 - Friday 30th August
OK, so Andrew admits to making a mistake last night. He did not imagine housekeeping intended to do "towel and trash" yesterday and a full service today (Jennifer agreed). Yet here is the full service basket outside our room. We are on our way to the bus stop so go back to front desk and Jennifer. Yes, another admission from housekeeping that they messed it up.
Now, to the Magic Kingdom. Halloween decorations are already appearing. Mikki feels the heat today and both humans are conscious of the noise. On Main Street, Mikki sadly recalls the time we were sitting outside the Bakery when an artist came to inspect and touch up the gold leaf lettering. All that has gone for Starbucks. We get some pictures but leave without riding. We do buy the Lennox Tinker Bell ornament I mentioned earlier. We charge it to the room: since our discussion with Jennifer last night, we have a $100 credit to spend. This afternoon the humans have booked massages and follow up with another meal at Outback.
In the evening, the humans split up. Andrew sits on the balcony because he can't stand how cold the room is (air con off): Mikki stays in because she can't stand the insects outside (who have acquired a strong taste for her).
Day 13 - Saturday 31st August
Our housekeeping lady has had an idea. She doesn't want to interrupt us while we are in the room - so she knocks on the door while we are still in bed to ask us to display the "Privacy" sign. What happened to Housekeeping asking us in advance what time we would be out and agreeing to service the room at 10.30? Yes, this is Floriduh!
Mikki drives us to Epcot in the car. There are still lots of disabled spaces close to the entrance. We ride Mission Space (I am pilot) and walk round World Showcase taking pictures. The humans have a glass of wine in Germany and eat lunch at the new restaurant in Italy. They both have a chicken escalope in lemon sauce with white asparagus and enjoy it.
On the way out, we ride the re-opened Spaceship Earth. Mikki thinks there are changes in lighting at several places and the first scene (of the hunters) is clearer. Sadly, we lose our future: the little film you should get on the descent. We answer the questions and get the opening welcome sequence with the humans' pictures but then the screen goes blank. Andrew decides we should tell the cast in case they want to correct things for future guests, but the cast member we approach seems unconcerned. Yes, this happens: try riding again. Not today, thanks.
Well, it does look like someone has done a full clean today. The floor has been washed the. Bed made and all the "in use" soaps cleared away.
We drive to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Mikki checks out the shop and I have some nice pictures taken and then the humans eat at The Mara.
