Entering Disneyland with a Halloween Party ticket

So, here's proof that even us old-timers can occasionally come up with a question we need help with.

DW and I have been wanting to get down to Disneyland for a very long time now, and it's all coming together for us to go down the morning of Halloween and stay through Nov 5. We're planning on going to the Halloween Party on Halloween.

Just wondering what time Disneyland will allow entry to the Park with just the Party ticket. Do they do something similar to WDW and allow entry 2-3 hours before the Party starts (which is at 6pm)? We can't possibly be at the parks before 1 at the earliest, so we could easily wander around DTD for a couple of hours and not pay for an extra day on our regular ticket.

That was my first guess, but given that the two coasts don't always do things the same, I didn't want to assume.

It's been a long time since we've been "home" to Disneyland, and we've never done a party there.
