Can You Use Stickers With Shella Nails?..

I am really new to all this getting-my-nails-done stuff, but I've gotten the shellac solid color nails twice recently, and LOVE the durability of them! I want something special for Disney, and can't decide what. Does it work to put a (Disney) sticker/decal on when you get them done w shellac? Heard it may crackle or something. I would appreciate your thoughts! The Disney nails on Pinterest blew my mind, but I don't think the person doing them is experienced with doing designs, so I was wondering if the stickers would be a good idea. Do you put a solid coat, then the sticker, then a clear shellac coat? I want the top to be smooth, not having sticker raised.....The title should say Shellac, but I don't know how to edit the title....
