I just realized that because we're flying I won't be able to take bottled water with me on this trip, and I drink a lot of water. I also know that there may not be a refrigerator in our room. Because I drink lots of water, I don't really want to pay Disney prices for bottled water. If I bring my Tervis or Camelbak water bottle with me will there be plenty of places I can fill it in the parks and at the resort (ASM) with decent tasting, cold water?

You can go to any counter service place and ask for an ice water at no charge. Some people don't prefer to do this, but to me it tastes like the same ice water I drink at home!!!!!!!

You would only be able to fill your camelback in a water fountain. As mentioned, you can ask for a cup of ice water but Disney has started scaling back on this and only giving you a really small cup. They still give you a cup, but they used to give you a decent size cup and now it's much smaller one I can usually finish in 2-3 gulps. So, we're doing camelbacks now, too. I don't find the water to taste bad. I know some people gripe about Florida water but I know (having seen it) that the water in the parks goes through an extensive filtration system and doesn't taste bad.

You can also buy water bottles with built in filters now too.

I would recommend buying a few water bottles from a shop after going through security at the airport to last on the plane and at night in your hotel room. I also suggest for the daytime that perhaps you'd like to bring crystal light water flavoring packs or any other brand of water flavoring to put in your Camelbak this way you can get free water from your hotel sink/water fountains and not taste the horrible Florida water:mickey:

I don't care for the taste of the Florida water, but what I'll usually bring am empty bottle and fill it at the fountains, but add flavoring packets you can buy fairly inexpensive and pack in your suitcase (propel, crystal light, kool aid, etc.)

We use these. I'm not crazy about the taste of the fountain water so the filters do a good job.

I asked for water cups with ice last week on several occasions and I got a normal, sized cup.

The best fountain I have found for filling your water bottles is in MK. The fountain by the child care centre, just around the corner from Casey's, is always cold.

We usually bring my zero water filter pitcher in our luggage. It's narrow so it packs quite well.

The room water is usually awful tasting, so we need the filter for our tea in the morning, but we found it helpful to fill up large water bottles with filtered water and put them in the fridge/freezer the night before. As the bottle defrosts during the day it keeps us cool, plus gives us water to drink.

We got the bottle straps (the good ones) a decade or so ago and they keep our hands free as we roam around. Works like a charm, and we've not bought water in a long time there!

We used Garden Grocer, ordered online and it was delivered to our room !! It saved us from packing it and or shipping it. We bought other items too, snacks and soda's......this truly beats drinking the FL water, or standing in line for a small cup of water......:mickey:

I had originally thought about doing that, but since there will probably not be a fridge in the room I'll have no way to cool it.

We too drink tons of water. We bring a "Bobble" water bottle and refill at water fountains. Perfectly filtered water. You can pick these up at Target or online. :number1:

If your staying on property at a Disney Resort, right across from the entrance to The Boardwalk is a Hess Gas Station that sells bottles/cases of water/other at a much better price. You then however have to carry back to to bus/boat/rail to Resort, but it's a way to get water, drinks and snacks to your Resort if you don't have a car. Just a suggestion! Enjoy The Water.

Won't drink the water, it may be filtered, but it smells of sulfur... In the summer, I don't think the fountains can provide water much colder than luke warm.

We drink Dasani in Florida... Happy that Disney switched away from Aquafina or Zephyrhills which ever one they had previously. While I am 100% aware it's still filtered water, they do a much better job. It's consistent as well, no matter where I get it.

We use it for everything, our coffee in the AM, etc. Any drink I buy on property is bottled as well, nothing from the dispensers. Uses the same Florida water...

I would go this route, IF you don't have a fridge, you can always fill your bathroom sinks with ICE and use that to get stuff cold. Used to do that for years before we got DVC. Use some towels over the top to help keep the cold in.

At the resorts you can get water from the drink stations via the lemonade option (generally speaking) unless that too is being limited by the new RFID tech.

This same option is available at the Backlot Express in HS and the Electric Umbrella in Epcot. At this time I don't think MK or AK have a quick service restaurant with an unlimited soda station.

I had heard that if the RFID isn't valid, the machines dispense water... So, if they keep that option, it's not a problem...

Our last trip, 9/12, the water had gotten much worse. Next trip we will bring a Brita pitcher. I don't know why, but Fla water has gotten worse thru the yrs. Most park fountains were NOT chilled.
