Why do WDW and DLR wait soo long to open booking into a new year?

We may want to do spring break in California this coming year. But, I would like to be able to view the prices and make a decision. It is already inside of a year. Why do they wait so long to open bookings and then you can book the entire year. Seems like they would want to capture your vacation before you decide to go somewhere else. It also puts a planning damper on those of us who have to vacation the first part of the year.:confused:

I don't know why they do it but it annoys me too.

It's really annoying. We're looking to go in January of next year and booking still isn't up. Yet, if we were going in December 2014, we would be able to book it the same time, giving us well over a full year. I don't know why they don't have a rolling timeline that is released by quarter.

WDW is already up, but we're still waiting on DL. Nothing is confirmed, but some rumors are saying it will be up in the next week or so.
