Hi...being the mom of four boys, I never tried to get a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table thinking it was mainly for girls because of the princesses. But lately people have been telling me I should go just for the experience. I was able to make a reservation for our upcoming trip in September, and wanted some opinions on whether our 9 year old son will love it or hate it, and if I should keep the reservation. Thanks.

We have two boys and had a GREAT time at The Royal Table. The boys got swords instead of wands so they do recognize that boys will want a bit of a different experience. Here is my DW's report on the meal...

CAST: Me (Jennifer), DH (Brian aka CanadianWDWFan), DS11 (Harry) and DS5 (Euan)

WDW holiday Saturday August 22 to Saturday September 5, 2009 (Pop, Boardwalk, Old Key West)

Today we were to fulfil another of the boys’ requirements for Dad. Lunch in the castle. I know that much has been said about the quality of the food at Cindy’s place, but we have always been happy enough, and you can’t beat the castle for atmosphere!

We were checked in, then escorted into the foyer to meet and greet with Cinderella (which neither of the boys wanted any part of, but too bad, cuz I’m a girl and sometimes we gotta do girlie stuff to make Mom happy!). We went upstairs to be seated, and got a great table right near one of the windows on the lower level. Our server was quick to bring us drinks and take our orders. Brian and Dad had Major Domo pies, Euan had pasta and Harry and I had the salmon. We all enjoyed our meals (and Harry enjoyed half of mine too), and had the dessert which was some kind of chocolate buckle, the boys had the ice cream with the chocolate crowns (but Harry’s was bigger because he is an “adult”). We saw all kinds of lovely ladies (but no Mary Poppins, unfortunately. Euan LOVES Mary Poppins) . First was Belle, then Snow White, Aurora and then Jasmine (whom ALL the guys wanted their photo with for some reason? ). Lunch was a fabulous time, and everyone enjoyed it immensely.

Funny story about our visit was that at the table beside us was seated a fire fighter from our home town. We only recognized him since he was the first responder into our house after a 911 call. :D

We have done this meal twice and enjoyed it on both occasions. As my DW said, it is an experience just for the atmosphere.

Thanks for telling me about your experience with CRT. I really enjoyed reading your wife's report on when you ate there. We decided to keep our reservation for our trip in September.:mickey:

Your boys will enjoy themselves. The Princess's are great. The only thing we did not care for was the food. Plenty of it but just OK. The boys will like inside the castle. Have fun
