Booked a trip for the end of Aug. hoping that free dining will be offered. Has anyone heard if it is or not going to happen? The reason I am desperate to find out is my dad is purchasing us the plane tickets for my son 13th Birthday present and he is booking them this weekend.

There have been some rumors that it might be released next week sometime, but no confirmation on that. There's no way to no for sure until an official announcement is made.

All rumors I have seen have stated free dining will be offered for September 2-25, and will be released/announced on May 9th. Of course this is only a rumor, but I have seen a lot of buzz about it on another board.

As long as your check-in date is during the promotion period, you'll get it for your entire stay.

So we are planning on booking our trip for Dec 5th to Dec 9th - 5 Day-4 Night stay. If I book now and they come out with free dining I can ask for the free dining?

...I'm hearing thru a reliable "source" that some Free Dining deal will be announced the 2nd week of May (next week) ....so we'll keep our fingers crossed that it overlaps our Aug/Sept trip.

Hmph... Starting 9/2 would stink! We are booked 8/25 to 8/30. Hoping the dates in that "rumor" aren't true!!

Your best bet if you book now is to book through Magical Journeys. Then whatever discount is released for December they'll get applied to your reservation right away without you worrying about missing anything.

Disney tends to have the free dining when attendance is low...unfortunately that means it'll probably be after Labor Day. Hopefully, they'll start it earlier so you can take advantage.

I know lots of people are waiting for it to be announced ... and since it has usually been in August, many will be disappointed if it doesn't come out this year.

Only Disney knows for sure ...

I was just reading free dining for Disney Visa Card Holders! How do I get the code for that promotion for it to be applied to my reservation?

No code needed. If you booked through Disney just call them and ask them to change your reservation to free dining and they will ask you for your DIsney Visa Info. IF you booked through MJ they will do it for you, no need to deal with the hassle of calling in like the rest of the visa card holders.

What if I booked through another travel agent? Would I have to call for the code to be applied to my reservation?

If you booked through a TA only that TA can make changes to your reservation so you will have to call them and get them to do the changes for you. That's why I love Magical Journeys. They have it all taken care of before I even know the discount is available.

I've noticed that the Official Disney website has not posted anything about the free dining yet?? Is this a hush hush/ word of mouth type promotion or is this yet another example of the Disney website being less than reliable and not up to date?

They normally do not post Visa offers. They should be up when it opens to the public.

....saw the 'deals' that are being offered and the official confirmation that the free dining does in fact commence on Sept 2nd .....instead of in mid August as it did last year :( (visa card holders can get it now ...the rest wait till the 9th)

....so ...we don't get the free dining because we'll be there 8/24 thru 9/2 ....and the deal we 'get' is a room discount (20%). Something is better than nothing ....but the room deal 'savings' is $300 vs the $800 we'd save with the free dining. Same story too ...have to wait till the 9th to 'add on' the room discount.......
