An Eiffel Treat

4/20/13 More details have been announced for the new ice cream parlor in Epcot’s France pavilion. The new venue replacing the former Boulangerie Pātisserie bakery location will be named L’Artisan des Glaces. When the location opens in Mid-June 2013, Guests will find 16 flavors of homemade ice cream and sorbets made fresh in-house. An added treat for adults will be the option to pair a shot of French liquor with several of the flavors.

These Are the Droids You’re Looking For

4/20/13 Guests wanting to build their own droid now have a second option. Once Upon A Toy in the Downtown Disney Marketplace has added a Star Wars Droid Factory kiosk. The kiosk allows Guests to assemble their own droid figure from a variety of different parts and components. So far, there have not been any reported differences between this kiosk and the one inside Tatooine Traders at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

A Handwich by Any Other Name

4/20/13 The recently popular Conewich (Disney Handwich circa 1980's reincarnation) from Disney’s California Adventure has made their way to Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney. The Marketplace Snacks kiosk in the Downtown Disney Marketplace has recently added two conewich varieties to its menu. The kiosk offers Guests a Meatball Cone featuring Turkey meatballs in marinara and a Chili Cone Queso featuring beef chili and cheese.

A Revving Reoccurrence

4/20/13 Car Masters Weekend has been announced to return in June 2013 to Downtown Disney. This third annual event will be held June 14- 16, 2013. Guests will have the opportunity to meet characters from Cars 2, view a car show, and other yet-to-be-announced activities.

Sweet Switches

4/20/13 Most ice cream carts around the parks have recently made two changes to their standard offerings. The Nestle Triple Blast has been replaced by a new Nestle Itzakadoozie bar and the Dole Pineapple bar has been replaced by an Orange and Cream Bar. The Itzakadoozie is quite different than its former twisted incarnation; this new treat is a Wild Berry ice bar with lemon center. The Orange and Cream bar is an Orange ice bar with cream center. Both of the new treats are offered for $3.75. Fans of the Triple Blast and Pineapple bars can reportedly find them at a few carts around the parks, but the majority of locations have reportedly made the change.

In The Loop

4/20/13 Work appears to be staring for the Magic Kingdom Bus Loop expansion. Construction walls are now up around the site.

2/3/2012 The construction application for the expansion of the Magic Kingdom bus loop has been approved by the South Florida Water Management.

1/14/13 Guests may soon find travel to and from the Magic Kingdom to be less congested. The Walt Disney World resort has filed a construction application with the South Florida Water Management District to build a third bus loop. If approved, the new bus loop would be located between the two existing bus loops and the shore of the Seven Seas Lagoon. In addition to adding capacity for additional buses, it appears the third loop would better allow for the larger, articulated buses that have previously been tested. A time table for the construction has not been reported.
